class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-5xms420908\">Before starting IVF treatment, various laboratory tests are requested separately from the male and female partners who have <a href=\"https:\/\/serkanoral.com\/en\/causes-of-infertility-in-women\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>infertility<\/strong><\/a> problems. In this way, the success rate of the IVF treatment is increased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-9rk0y20912\">Infertility screening should be performed simultaneously on candidates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-xn52020914\"><strong><em>The basic tests applied at the initial stage are as follows:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-0kmj820916\"><strong>Sperm test<\/strong> for father candidate,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-9rof820920\"><strong>Blood (hormone) tests<\/strong> to investigate the expectant mother&#8217;s ovulation,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-ccx6k20924\">Tests to determine whether the expectant mother&#8217;s fallopian tubes are open and the inside of the uterus is normal. For this purpose, the most common <strong>x-ray of the uterus<\/strong> (hysterosalpingography, HSG) is taken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"viewer-8cu0020928\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"laboratory-tests-performed-on-women-before-in-vitro-fertilization-ivf-treatment\"><\/span>Laboratory Tests Performed on Women Before In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) Treatment<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"viewer-nvyb420930\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"basal-hormone-tests\"><\/span>Basal hormone tests<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-ra9i420932\">It is important to perform FSH, LH, E2 (2nd or 3rd day of menstruation), TSH, PRL and if necessary DHEAS, Total-Testosterone hormone tests before in vitro fertilization treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-g0kxf20934\">Especially basal (2nd or 3rd day of menstruation) FSH levels higher than normal (12 and above) and E2 values above 80 pg\/ml indicate \u201clow ovarian reserve\u201d. Low ovarian reserve is a negative factor for pregnancy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"viewer-rze1i20936\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"hysterosalpingography-medicated-hysterosalpingography-or-office-hysteroscopy\"><\/span>Hysterosalpingography (medicated hysterosalpingography) or Office Hysteroscopy<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-pm71o20938\">Although whether or not the tubes are blocked is not an important symptom before IVF treatments, the regularity of the inside of the uterus is an important criterion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-zxka420940\">If there are adhesions in the uterus or polyps in the uterus (endometrial polyps), this may cause problems with the baby&#8217;s implantation after embryo transfer (ET), which may result in miscarriage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-6r6al20942\">Transvaginal ultrasound: The &#8220;basal ultrasound examination&#8221; performed on the 2nd or 3rd day of menstruation (in the basal period) is important for examining both the uterus and the ovaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-lt2b120944\">The reserve status of the ovaries (\u201covarian reserve\u201d), whether polycystic ovaries are present, and whether cysts or endometrium (<a href=\"https:\/\/serkanoral.com\/en\/what-are-the-diagnosis-stages-and-dimensions-of-chocolate-cyst\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>chocolate cysts<\/strong><\/a>) are present should be determined on ultrasound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-ff0hh20948\">Ultrasound also determines whether there are <a href=\"https:\/\/serkanoral.com\/en\/non-surgical-fibroid-treatment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>myomas<\/strong><\/a> or polyps in the uterus, the size of the uterus, and whether there is an anatomical (structural) problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-4xsjz20952\">In in vitro fertilization and infertility treatments, ultrasounds are mostly applied from below (vaginally).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-8q2tk20954\">Hormone tests, transvaginal ultrasound and hsg or office hysteroscopy are required for expectant mothers before in vitro fertilization (ivf) treatments. The following other tests are requested in various special cases:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"viewer-b98c820956\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"hiv-hbs-ag-anti-hcv\"><\/span>HIV, Hbs Ag, Anti-HCV<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-1f5tl20958\">HIV (AIDS test) and Anti-HCV (Hepatitis C test) indicate the presence of viral diseases in the expectant mother that have no treatment and can be transmitted to the baby at birth if pregnancy occurs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-gh7ci20960\">HbsAg indicates Hepatitis B carrier status, and if the mother-to-be is a Hepatitis B carrier, the baby will be protected from &#8220;Type B jaundice&#8221; by administering Hepatitis B vaccine and Hepatitis B serum after birth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"viewer-myll420962\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"blood-group\"><\/span><strong>Blood g<\/strong>r<strong>oup<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-x8g8n20964\">If the mother&#8217;s blood type is negative and the father&#8217;s is positive and pregnancy occurs, there is a risk of blood incompatibility in the baby, so the &#8220;Blood Incompatibility Injection (Anti D immunoglobulin)&#8221; is applied during <a href=\"\/gebelikte-hangi-durumlarda-doktora-basvurulmali\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>pregnancy<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"viewer-f9p4w20968\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"rubella-igg\"><\/span>Rubella IgG<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-mcx0n20970\">Rubella Ig G positivity helps detect previous rubella infection and is a positive finding. If Rubella Ig G is negative, the expectant mother is at risk for rubella and pre-pregnancy vaccination or avoiding rash diseases is recommended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-cmsuf20972\">If rubella infection occurs during pregnancy, it can cause serious disabilities in the baby. For this reason, termination of pregnancy is necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"viewer-2jxyj20974\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"aptt-ptt-inr-protein-s-and-protein-c\"><\/span><strong>aPTT, PTT, INR, Protein<\/strong> <strong>S and Protein C<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-71wak20976\">These are factors related to blood clotting. Especially in cases of clotting mechanism disorders (\u201cthrombophilia disease\u201d), pregnancies may result in miscarriage (abortion).
