id=\"viewer-ppsm11172\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"ivf-drugs-for-women\"><\/span>IVF drugs for women<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you have a very irregular cycle, if ovulation is irregular,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If there is little or no egg production,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If infertility is the result of damage to the pituitary gland (which controls your hormone production).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"viewer-c0c221184\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"ivf-drugs-for-men\"><\/span>IVF drugs for men<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-n2z6e1186\">In some cases, medications may be prescribed for men.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Antibiotics to treat infection or inflammation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gonadotropins for some rare conditions where no sperm is produced<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Retrograde ejaculation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"viewer-jovzp1198\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"commonly-used-ivf-drugs\"><\/span>Commonly used IVF drugs<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-u3i821200\">There are a number of different <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/serkanoral.com\/en\/ivf-treatment-costs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">IVF<\/a><\/strong> medications that your doctor may recommend. During an IVF cycle, it is necessary to take certain medications to prepare the body for treatment. The instructions for each medication vary from patient to patient.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"viewer-i93d01204\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"gnrh-agonists\"><\/span>GnRH Agonists<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-e6yuw1206\">Lupron, taken as an injection just under the skin, and Synarel, a nasal spray, allow the body to produce a higher number of eggs during the treatment cycle. They also prevent hormonal fluctuation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"viewer-akd141208\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"antagonists\"><\/span>Antagonists<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-4afnl1210\">Antagon and Cetrotide are gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) antagonists used to prevent premature ovulation. These drugs are administered by injection and the course of treatment usually lasts three or four days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"viewer-alpng1212\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"gonadotropins\"><\/span>Gonadotropins<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-mfukl1214\">Gonadotropins are taken as subcutaneous injections that stimulate the follicles containing the eggs during the stimulation phase. Gonal F, Bravelle, Follistim, Pergonal, and Repronex are the most commonly used gonadotropins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"viewer-968de1216\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"hcg\"><\/span>HCG<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-t3gfu1218\">hCGs are taken as an intramuscular injection and are used to induce final maturation changes in the egg and prepare it for retrieval. The most common hCGs are Pregnyl, Profasi, and Novarel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"viewer-0f2pw1220\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"antibiotics\"><\/span>Antibiotics<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" id=\"viewer-9vttl1222\">Antibiotics administered in pill form are given to the female partner during the stimulation cycle to reduce the low levels of bacteria present in the semen that could compromise sperm performance during the IVF cycle. They are also given to the female partner during egg retrieval to reduce the risk of infection following aspiration of follicles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"viewer-exuod1224\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"progesterone\"><\/span>Progesterone<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Natural Progesterone can be taken as a daily intramuscular injection starting two days after egg retrieval and until the placenta produces sufficient Progesterone.
