The Effect of Modern Life on Infertility

One of the most common problems today is infertility. Couples who want to be parents need medical help to have a child. For this reason, many in vitro fertilization centers provide services, especially in our country. Although there are many factors that cause infertility, one of the most important factors is modern life.


Technological devices that make our lives easier and have become indispensable can lead to serious problems such as infertility. Using a laptop can cause sperm quality to decrease due to heat. Sperm cells divide and multiply very quickly. For this reason, they are very sensitive to external effects.


Infertility rates

In Turkey, 15 out of every hundred couples face infertility problems. 45% of this rate is due to men. Today, there is a serious increase in male infertility. Some of the reasons for this are external factors and environmental.


Some of the environmental factors that cause male infertility can be listed as follows;

  • Air pollution,

  • Water pollution,

  • Environmental pollution,

  • Hormonal foods,

  • Toxic substances,

  • Medicines,

  • Habits such as smoking and drinking alcohol.

Placing pockets in trousers exposes the testicles to extremely high electromagnetic fields, which negatively affects sperm.


Apart from this, smoking and alcohol habits, sedentary lifestyle, exposure to radiation, lack of clean air, and unhealthy nutrition are negative situations that lead to infertility in modern life.
