IVF Prices - 2014

For couples who cannot have a baby through normal means, IVF treatment is a process that requires sacrifices both financially and spiritually. Today, approximately 15 out of 100 couples have to undergo IVF treatment. This shows how many people are interested in IVF treatment.

The costs of in vitro fertilization treatments are high. In general, in vitro fertilization prices vary from center to center. In determining these prices;

  • Prices of medicines

  • Medical facilities offered by the centers to individuals

  • Quality of consumables used

  • Differences in applied technology

  • Number of qualified personnel

  • Doctors' experiences

  • Factors such as success rates are influential.

IVF treatment prices did not increase significantly in 2014 compared to previous years. The difference this year was in patients who received a report from the Social Security Institution (SGK) for IVF treatment.

Tests performed during IVF treatment do not cause major changes in prices.

  • Ultrasound examination (performed 2-3 times for ovarian monitoring)

  • Egg tracking

  • Ovulation of eggs by applying OPU

  • Fertilization of eggs in a laboratory environment (IVF)

  • Applications such as transferring fertilized embryos to the expectant mother's uterus are included in the in vitro fertilization prices. included.

However, this is not the case for drugs. Because drug treatments change the IVF price range a lot. In IVF treatment, ovarian reserves are checked with a blood test done on the 2nd day of the menstrual period.

  • If the egg reserves are not good and the number is low or the mother is older, more medication needs to be used to stimulate the eggs. Procedures such as IMSI, embryoscope, pregnancy vaccination may be shown to the patient as an additional expense in some centers. Individuals should definitely ask the IVF centers before the application whether they need to pay an additional fee for these applications.

In our country, the Social Security Institution (SGK) covers some of the costs incurred in IVF treatment. However, there are certain conditions for this: These are:

  • The couple must have received a medical report from the board stating that they are unable to have a baby through normal means as a result of medical treatments and that they can only have a baby through assisted reproductive treatment methods.

  • The mother candidate must be over 23 years old and not older than 40 years old.

  • The IVF center where the treatment is applied must have a contract with the Health Institution.

  • Being a general health insurance holder or a person the insured is responsible for looking after for at least 5 years and having 900 days of general health insurance premium days

  • These are conditions such as documenting and proving by the health boards of the health service providers contracted with the institution that no results have been obtained from other treatment methods in the last 3 years.

Although the costs of in vitro fertilization treatment are considered high, when the procedures performed and the possible results of successful completion are considered , the in vitro fertilization prices in question are not very expensive.
