IVF Law

The in vitro fertilization method is a very risk-free, painless and natural procedure for women who have not been able to get pregnant through normal means and for couples who have tried for years to have a child but have not been successful, “under certain conditions”, and it is also a suitable method for having a baby since it does not include any legally harmful situations in our country. While this method occurs when the sperm fertilizes the egg and clings to the uterus after a normal sexual intercourse, the only difference in the in vitro fertilization method is that it can be considered as a simple and small supportive procedure in which the egg and sperm cells of individuals who have not been fertilized under normal conditions but do not have any health problems are fertilized in laboratory conditions and placed back into the uterus. Under these conditions, neither the mother nor the father candidate suffers any physical or psychological harm, and it is a method where the success rate can reach 60% depending on certain conditions. There are some rules developed for the in vitro fertilization method with the latest legal regulations, which are; The conditions for the expectant mother to be between a minimum of 23 and a maximum of 39 years old, it must be proven that the couple cannot have a child with normal treatments or under normal conditions, it must be documented that no results have been obtained from any treatment in the last three years, and the medical center that will perform the treatment must be affiliated with the health institution.

Is the Time Between Two Babies Important in IVF?

Since the in vitro fertilization method requires the expectant mother and father to have suitable psychological, financial and physical health conditions, the time intervals and timings determined for the application of this method should be shaped according to the decision of the doctor, otherwise an application to be made may be subject to risk in terms of the mother's health. Since it is known that this method is often unsuccessful in the first application and that success is achieved in other attempts in the future, it would be unnecessary to decide whether to give up and try the method only once, and a treatment application to be done without waiting one after the other is equally unnecessary and will also cause various physiological disorders for the mother. For this reason, there is definitely a period to wait between each attempt, as well as between 2 in vitro fertilizations, and although this period varies from patient to patient, it is an average process of 1.5 to 2 months. There is no harm in couples trying this method many times at certain intervals with these time intervals and of course, depending on the timing deemed appropriate by the specialist doctor, if their financial situation is suitable.

What is the Maximum Age Factor Affecting the Success of IVF?

Although the IVF method can be briefly defined as providing fertilization in an external environment, when considered as a pre- pregnancy and process, it is not much different from a normal pregnancy, it progresses under completely natural conditions and its success is just as effective as the psychological and physiological health of a woman who has become pregnant under normal conditions, in IVF. Of course, when it comes to physiological health, the first thing that comes to mind is the mother's age, which is important because no matter how healthy the mother's body is, the age factor is also important because the fertility level, hormones, menstruation and ovulation-related conditions are also factors. According to the data collected from the applications made so far, it is thought that this age limit is at least 23 years old and at most 39 years old as the most ideal range. However, although the 20s are considered the most suitable for IVF, the 30s are considered moderately suitable and the probability of success after 39 is very low or not suitable, there are also exceptional cases.

Is It Necessary to Stay in the Hospital During IVF Treatment?

IVF treatment is an outpatient procedure and consists of extremely easy and simple applications. IVF treatment is carried out in several stages and as the first stage, the necessary tests are performed and the mother candidate is provided with the necessary medical drug supplements in line with these tests. In the next stages, the development and collection of eggs, embryo formation, the development process of the embryo and the placement in the uterus of the mother candidate continue, but in none of these sequences does the mother candidate need to stay in the hospital, it will be sufficient for her to come to the hospital only for the necessary routine checks.

How is IVF Treatment Perceived in Society?

IVF treatment is an extremely painless, painless, risk-free and completely legal method of having a baby, which primarily provides a solution to the longings of couples who cannot have a baby, and couples who have tried to have a baby through normal means but have not been successful. It is also important to know that it is a natural process and that no stage of this process is different from a normal pregnancy. Because the fact that this information is not known or is confused with the donation process, which is widely applied abroad, especially by people in rural areas, also brings social pressure. However, according to the donation application, in the IVF method, there is no egg or sperm of a third person other than the actual mother and father candidate, and after a successful treatment, the child is created 100% with the cells of the real mother and father. Donation treatment, on the other hand, is not legal in our country anyway, and it is applied with the support of a third person “within the consent” of those whose eggs and sperm are damaged. For this reason, there is no reason why women who have not been able to get pregnant through normal means should not look favorably on the in vitro fertilization method, which is a natural method and a chance, and it is completely legal, because they do not have enough information.
