It is a type of gynecological infection that is very common in women of reproductive age due to changes in the vagina caused by sexual intercourse and the use of vaginal douches. These bacteria cause a foul-smelling discharge in the vagina. A sample is taken from the discharge and after determining the source of the gynecological infection, the patient is treated with antibiotics. The patient's complaints decrease in a short time. If bacterial vaginosis is not treated, it can cause an ectopic pregnancy. Having this gynecological infection during pregnancy may require premature birth.


  • The parasite called trichomonas is a type of gynecological infection that can occur in both men and women. It causes green and foul-smelling discharge in women. It also causes complaints such as burning and itching during urination. When a gynecological infection is found, couples should be treated together. It is important to use a condom during sexual intercourse to reduce the risk of infection.

  • Genital warts are among the sexually transmitted gynecological infections. They cause warts to form in the genital area. Warts are treated with various creams, cryotherapy, electrocautery and laser treatment.


  • Pelvic inflammatory disease is a type of infection seen in women. It can cause complaints such as abdominal and groin pain, back pain, pain during sexual intercourse, fever, and fatigue.


  • Urinary tract infections cause complaints such as frequent and little urination. Although it is not a very common situation, urinary tract infections that occur during pregnancy can lead to premature birth.


Ways to Prevent Vaginal Yeast Infection

  • Consuming less sugary foods is one of the precautions to be taken against vaginal yeast infections.


  • Cotton and absorbent underwear should be used.


  • Tight and tight underwear and trousers should not be worn. These clothes prevent ventilation and are factors that increase the risk of getting a vaginal yeast infection.


  • The genital area should be dried well after bathing and should not be left wet or damp.


  • Cleaning the genital area after sexual intercourse may disrupt the balance of the vagina, so no action should be taken after intercourse.


  • If antibiotics are used, plenty of yoghurt should be consumed while the drugs are being used.


  • One of the important points to consider when cleaning the genital area is to clean the genital area from front to back.


  • Chemical substances such as scented toilet papers and vaginal douches should not be used .

 

What to Know About Urinary Tract Infections

  • Urinary tract infections occur as a result of microorganisms entering the urinary tract and multiplying.


  • If left untreated, urinary tract infections can reach the kidneys and cause kidney inflammation.


  • Some infections in the urinary tract do not reach the kidneys.
