9 Things That Are Forbidden During Pregnancy

Alcohol

Just as cigarettes are harmful, alcohol also has negative effects on the baby's health development due to some of the substances it contains. If expectant mothers consume alcohol during pregnancy, the baby may be at risk of mental retardation, miscarriage and premature birth. At the same time, alcohol consumed especially in the first weeks of pregnancy may directly affect the embryo, and the expectant mother may face a possible miscarriage risk.

In addition, alcohol use in later stages of pregnancy can negatively affect the baby's organ development and damage the nervous system. Alcohol should be avoided at all times during pregnancy. Fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS), which causes physical and mental abnormalities in babies, is also one of the risks that the baby faces as a result of the mother's alcohol consumption during pregnancy.

Amphetamine (Drug use)

Drugs have many negative effects on babies. Due to the effects of drugs, expectant mothers face risks such as miscarriage and premature birth. In addition, the development of the baby, which is attached to the placenta, is negatively affected. Babies of expectant mothers who use drugs during pregnancy are also born addicted to amphetamines. Babies experience problems such as tremors, difficulty eating, and sleep problems. This situation continues as mental retardation in later ages.

Tomography

Tomography is not recommended for use in pregnant women because it contains high levels of radiation. During tomography, the baby in the womb may be directly exposed to radiation. This may cause some negative effects on the healthy development of the baby.

Extremely humid and hot environments

During pregnancy, the blood level in the body increases. Due to the increase in blood level, the heart works even harder. In extremely hot and steamy environments such as saunas, Turkish baths or hot springs, the veins dilate. Since the veins dilate, the heart works harder than normal. This situation can cause serious problems for pregnant women. Especially women during pregnancy should stay away from extremely hot environments until birth.

Raw meat should not be consumed

Foods such as undercooked meat and meat products, eggs, and unpasteurized dairy products can cause parasites to form in the intestines. Pregnant women's bodies are more sensitive during this period, so food poisoning may occur due to such reasons. Raw meat can be difficult to digest, so it can pose a risk for the mother and baby.

Stress

Stress is a negative situation that can happen to anyone. However, women, especially those who are pregnant , need to control their stress. The baby in the womb can also be negatively affected due to the stress experienced by the mother-to-be. In order for the baby to grow healthily and the pregnancy to be comfortable, it is necessary to stay away from stress as much as possible. In order to stay away from stress, the mother-to-be can talk to her doctor frequently. If necessary, she can also get help from a specialist psychologist. Excessive stress can create dangerous situations such as the risk of miscarriage and premature birth.

Don't stay standing too long

During every stage of pregnancy, the mother should definitely stay away from extremely tiring work. She should not do any movement that could harm the baby by straining her body, especially the abdominal area. She should not stand for too long and should take short breaks every 15 minutes while walking.

Drugs should not be used haphazardly

The mother-to-be should be in constant communication with her doctor during pregnancy. She should never, ever use medication on her own. This includes heavy cutters. The mother-to-be should definitely consult with her doctor when taking medication and should take medication under the supervision of her doctor.
